SELAH, Wash. (AP) - A search for a teen reported missing in a Yakima County canal has come up empty but is due to resume Saturday.

The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office says the 18-year-old from Selah was reported to have slid into the Roza canal at about noon Friday. Rescue crews, aided by personnel from the Bureau of Reclamation, searched near a power station with an underwater camera and then with divers, to no avail.

The area is a collection point of the water in the canal, and officials say drowning victims have been located there before.

Additional crews planned to resume the search Saturday.
