OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Officials say the autopsy report for the inmate who died following a botched execution in Oklahoma will take two to three months to complete.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Capt. George Brown says Clayton Lockett’s autopsy report is expected to be finished in eight to 12 weeks.

Lockett convulsed violently during the execution Tuesday night and tried to lift his head after a doctor declared him unconscious. He later died of an apparent heart attack. President Barack Obama has called the incident “deeply troubling.”

Brown says the autopsy is being performed at Southwestern Institute for Forensic Science in Dallas. Lockett’s body arrived in Dallas about 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

The autopsy report is part of an investigation into the execution. A team from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol will perform the investigation.
