PHOENIX (AP) - Two pedestrians are dead after being struck by vehicles in separate Phoenix accidents while a motorcycle driver has been killed after colliding with an SUV.

Phoenix police say 39-year-old motorcyclist Thomas Patrick Nickel was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash about 11:30 p.m. Thursday. He was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police say the fatal crash remained under investigation Friday.

Hours earlier, 64-year-old Abelardo Rivera-Contreras was struck while crossing 83rd Avenue and later died at a hospital. Police believe the 27-year-old driver of the car involved may have been impaired.

They say 20-year-old Victor Lee Squire was fatally struck around 8:15 a.m. Thursday while crossing 27th Avenue. He wasn’t in a crosswalk and police say the driver involved likely won’t face charges.
