GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a woman injured when a car she was riding in crashed into a trooper’s vehicle in Georgetown has died.
Troopers say 63-year-old Anezia Valette of Dover died Friday at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, where she was taken after the May 12 crash.
Police say Valette was a passenger in a car driven by 37-year-old Marie Voltaire of Dover. Troopers say Voltaire was traveling south on DuPont Boulevard when the car drifted over two lanes onto the median and hit a marked state police vehicle.
Authorities say the state police vehicle was parked in the median monitoring traffic.
Voltaire, Valette and the trooper were taken to local hospitals.
Police say Voltaire was issued a summons for failing to remain in a single lane. The crash remains under investigation.
