PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - The prosecutor in the murder trial of a Pierre teen will update Hughes County commissioners this week.
KCCR-AM reports Beadle County State’s Attorney Michael Moore is representing Hughes County in the case of 17-year-old Braiden McCahren. Moore is scheduled to update the commissioners Monday.
McCahren has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the December 2012 shooting death of 16-year-old Dalton Williams. McCahren was 16 at the time of the shooting that happened in his home.
A judge earlier this month set McCahren’s trial for September in Winner. The station reports that was the sixth time the trial date was rescheduled.
