BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Burlington Police say an arrest has been made in connection with their investigation into the suspicious death of a transient whose body was found over the weekend in the Vermont city.
On Monday police arrested 52-year-old Mark Delude, of Burlington, and charged him with obstruction of justice.
The body of 40-year-old Forrest Bryant was found Saturday in a transient camp off Pine Street. No cause of death has been determined, but his death has been ruled suspicious.
Police say there is evidence Delude was involved in an altercation with Bryant on the night or early morning of Bryant’s death. Witnesses say Delude tried to prevent police and rescue personnel from being called after Bryant was found unresponsive.
Delude is due in court Tuesday. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
