NEW YORK (AP) - Police have arrested two women who allegedly forced a child to help them steal cash and other items from at least three Queens businesses.

Police said Monday 41-year-old Tisha Strong, of Brooklyn, and 39-year-old Shannie Eastman, of Queens, were arrested on larceny charges. Strong was also charged with failing to exercise control of a minor. It wasn’t clear if they had lawyers.

In an alleged robbery on May 7, police say the women had the child remove a wallet from the victim’s bag behind a cash register. The child is about 4 years old.

Police believe the two women also had the child steal two purses at a thrift shop and money from a cash box at a travel agency.
