LEWISBURG, W.Va. (AP) - An accountant in Greenbrier County faces charges of embezzling more than $800,000 from a trust.
County prosecutor Patrick I. Via tells media outlets that Jeffrey E. Lewis of Renick is accused of taking the money from a trust created to benefit 73-year-old John Dawkins. Lewis was the trustee of the trust.
Lewis is charged with financial exploitation of an elderly person and embezzlement by a fiduciary.
Via says the investigation is ongoing.
