FREDONIA, Ariz. (AP) - The Fredonia Justice Court is reopening after a remodel that included removing asbestos and lead paint.

The court has scheduled an open house for the public on May 22 to check out the renovations.

Along with asbestos abatement, the project included new flooring, a remodeled lobby and energy-efficient lighting.

Officials say it was done for environmental safety and to enhance court security.

The court had been operating out of the town’s fire station since late February.
