BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - Vermont state officials are discussing how to spend more than $2.5 million for clean energy projects in Windham County, part of a payment from the owner of the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant that’s scheduled to close at the end of the year.
Andrew Perchlik, who manages the state’s Clean Energy Development Fund, tells Vermont Public Radio (https://bit.ly/1j1UKC3) the goal of a recent hearing was to seek local input.
Proposals at the meeting ranged from a wood pellet co-op to an anaerobic digester that would produce electricity from food waste at the Brattleboro solid waste facility.
The fund currently is accepting proposals for clean energy projects in the county.
