CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a Chandler police officer has been arrested after arriving at a job while drunk.

Chandler police say the 53-year-old officer was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence after arriving at an extra-duty job. Police spokesman Detective Seth Tyler says the officer’s partner at the job noticed he was impaired and called for assistance.

He was taken to a hospital after medical personnel evaluated him.

Police say charges are pending lab results. He is on paid administrative leave while the incident is being investigated.
