MONROE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve found the body of a 52-year-old man in the water at a quarry in Monroe County.
The sheriff’s department says it responded Sunday afternoon following a report of an abandoned vehicle near Dunbar Quarry in Monroe Township, about 35 miles southwest of Detroit.
Deputies found clothing, keys and a wallet belonging to the registered owner of the vehicle. A dive team was called and divers found the body of Bruce A. Chamberlain of Monroe near the southeast portion of the quarry. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputy Daniel Zbybek tells the Monroe News that Chamberlain may have slipped on rocks and fallen into the water. The death is under investigation.
