BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - State police say a man was killed and three other people were injured in a collision on an interstate highway in central New Jersey.

Mycentraljersey.com (https://mycj.co/1kfoQ9G) reports that three vehicles were involved in the accident, which occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday in Bernards Township.

Authorities say 25-year-old Calvin Luk of Mendham lost control of his car while driving northbound on Interstate 287. It hit the center median and a guard rail before coming to rest in the center and right lanes, where it was struck by a car driven by 47-year-old Salvatore Sarrecchia of Sparta.

Sarrecchia got out of his car and was soon struck by a marked state Human Services department vehicle.

Sarrecchia was pronounced dead at the scene. The three injured people were treated at a hospital.
