SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Traffic is up over last year at the Burlington International Airport, but still falls short of historic highs.

The airport releases monthly totals of people boarding planes at the South Burlington facility, and the April figure - 48,583 - was up nearly 1,800 from April of 2013.

That’s down by about 12,000 from the historic high of 60,728 in 2007.

The airport had its start as a municipal airport in 1920 - adding “international” to its title in 1969.
