RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - Police say they’ve arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly killing another man while they were drinking together at an apartment complex in Rapid City.

Police say the body of 59-year-old Lars Greeley was found in a common area of the complex at 603 Quincy St., shortly after 5 a.m. Friday morning by another resident.

Police spokeswoman Tarah Heupel said Saturday that Greeley and the suspect were drinking with two others Thursday night at the apartment complex when the younger man assaulted Greeley. She said it’s unclear what provoked the alleged attack. The suspect also allegedly assaulted a second man when he tried to stop the beating.

Heupel said the man is facing charges of aggravated assault and second degree murder. He will have his initial appearance Monday.
