BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A Fargo-based group will hold a fundraiser Saturday afternoon in Bismarck for displaced Sudanese orphans.
African Soul, American Heart President Deb Dawson is trying to raise funds after Sudanese rebels burned down a boarding school, forcing 34 students to flee and attend school elsewhere. The money raised will cover travel and rebuilding costs as a result of the rebellion.
Dawson told the Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/1jn8X2e) she hopes to raise $50,000.
The luncheon is part of the group’s “Up and Running” campaign and will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel downtown. Tickets for the event are $20.
