WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - State police are investigating the robberies of two stores about a half-mile from each other in the Wilmington area.

Both robberies occurred on Friday, about four hours apart. Police say in both cases, the robber was a white man wearing a mask and armed with a handgun. But police have not said whether they believe the same man was responsible. In the first robbery, the man was described as being about 6-foot-2, where the second robber was described as standing around 5-foot-10.

The first occurred at the Metro PCS store on Kirkwood Highway Friday afternoon. The second was in the evening at the Shell gas station on Newport Gap Pike. In both cases, the masked man pointed a gun at store employees and fled on foot with cash.
