TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. (AP) - A suspect is now in custody, accused of breaking into a suburban St. Louis home and badly beating the resident.
Charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, first-degree burglary and stealing a motor vehicle have been filed against 20-year-old Daniel Martin of Bel-Ridge. He is jailed on $150,000 bond.
Police say 60-year-old Thomas Ruzicka was attacked May 8 at his home in Town and Country, Missouri, a wealthy St. Louis suburb. He remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition with a heady injury.
A 2005 Ford Explorer and two flat-screen TVs were among stolen items. The car was found abandoned May 9 in St. Louis.
