PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence police say a 20-year-old man who was shot along with his sister while sitting in a car Wednesday was the target of that shooting.

Davon Taylor, who was driving the car, was killed in the shooting on Wendell Street. His sister, 15-year-old Destiny, was wounded and is in serious condition at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1nR1me5 ) Davon Taylor was a hip-hop artist known as “Splashy Roc” who rapped about money and violence. In a music video title “Prov City,” he raps, “You could die any given Sunday. Prov City; it’s a gun range.”

Police have not said why Taylor was targeted.
