ABBEVILLE, La. (AP) - Vermilion Parish sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Gueydan police officer after an investigation into unauthorized use of a fuel access card.
Sheriff Mike Couvillon tell The Advocate (https://bit.ly/QQolaK ) 29-year-old Kendal Primeaux, of Kaplan, was booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center Thursday on one count each of unauthorized use of an access card and malfeasance.
The sheriff said an investigation began after detectives received information about a Gueydan Police Department fuel card being used for personal uses.
Couvillon says detectives discovered Primeaux allegedly used the card for personal fuel-ups 40 times, spending $1,954 of the department’s money.
Primeaux was released from the jail after posting a $15,000 bond.
It was unclear whether he has an attorney.
