PITTSBURGH (AP) - Heavy rains prompted minor flooding in and around Pittsburgh, and the National Weather Service posted watches and warnings as the rains moved eastward.

The Ohio River could crest at 22 feet late Friday or early Saturday, which would flood some low-lying roads along the city’s riverbanks. The Mon Wharf parking lot along the Monongahela River was closed as a precaution Friday, but had yet to flood by midmorning.

A mud slide closed a road in nearby Lincoln Borough, and flash flooding closed state Route 381 in Ligonier Township, about 45 miles east of the city early Friday. Two to four inches of rain fell Thursday into Friday in many areas.

In Washington, Pennsylvania, about 20 miles southwest of the city, nearly 30 residents were evacuated after rains heavily damaged an apartment building roof.
