STUART, Fla. (AP) - State wildlife officials are offering a fishing seminar to attract more women to the sport.

The “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing” seminar runs Friday through Sunday in Stuart. It’s being sponsored by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in conjunction with the Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration Program.

A commission statement says the seminar is part of a national organization dedicated to attracting more women to sport fishing and promoting conservation and responsible angling.

Attendees will learn ethical angler habits, release techniques, fish venting and more. Local fishing guides will provide instruction on fishing techniques and methods.

Another such event is scheduled for November in the Florida Keys.
