ST. CHARLES, Ill. (AP) - A 26-year-old Aurora man has been convicted on nine counts of child pornography.

Kane County prosecutors say a jury convicted Oscar Mendez late Wednesday.

They say police searched Mendez’s home in July 2010, seizing a computer from his locked bedroom. A forensic analysis uncovered a collection of videos containing pornography involving children under age 13.

Mendez faces a sentence of probation or three to seven years in prison.

Mendez had been free on bond, but that was revoked and he was taken into custody after the verdict was read.
