BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) - A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a Beaumont man on three counts of capital murder for the March slayings of his three siblings.
Twenty-six-year-old Joe Frederick Hawkins also is accused of critically wounding a 21-year-old woman, a family friend, in the gunfire.
Shot to death March 16 were Hawkins’ 34-year-old brother, Darrell, 33-year-old brother Anthony Ray, and a 30-year-old sister, Reshawna.
When police responding to a disturbance call got to the home, they found all four shooting victims in the yard. Two already were dead and the third died later at a hospital.
Hawkins was arrested several days later at a motel in nearby Groves.
