BOONVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Volunteers at a southern Indiana youth center used food made for a fundraiser to feed their community after a severe thunderstorm.

Volunteers at the Studio Bee Community Youth Center in Boonville canceled their fundraising auction after a storm Friday night cut off electricity in the town 15 miles east of Evansville.

Studio Bee president Jerry Aigner tells the Evansville Courier & Press (https://bit.ly/1jx609B ) enough food had already been made for 200 people. Anyone who showed up for the auction got free food without paying admission.

Volunteers also donated food for emergency workers and at a shelter at the local fire station. More food was donated to a church that was feeding electric and cleanup crews.

The auction has been rescheduled to Friday.
