INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A 60-year-old former Marine is suing the Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Indianapolis over what he says was a botched medical procedure.

A lawsuit filed by Tony Yeary last week in federal court in Indianapolis claims he was subjected to a painful scope insertion in 2012 when he went to the VA hospital for treatment of a urinary problem.

The lawsuit says among other things that inadequate local anesthesia was used and that he was sent home without any pain medication. A second procedure the following month allegedly resulted in additional complications.

The lawsuit says Yeary is now being treated at another hospital.

Yeary is seeking unspecified damages.

A VA spokesman tells The Indianapolis Star ( https://indy.st/1sty5Uy ) that the agency doesn’t comment on pending litigation.
