PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence police have identified a man who was shot and killed while he and his sister sat in a car on Wendell Street.
Police Maj. David Lapatin tells the Providence Journal (https://bit.ly/1jJqkJL) that 20-year-old Davin Taylor and 15-year-old Destiny Taylor of Providence were in the parked car when another vehicle drove by and someone in that car fired at them at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Lapatin said the Davin Taylor was behind the wheel of his car. He died at the scene.
Destiny Taylor underwent surgery Wednesday night at Rhode Island Hospital. Her condition was not available Thursday morning.
Police say it’s not immediately clear if the shooting was gang-related but police have some suspects. No arrests have been made.
