BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - A Three Forks man who pleaded guilty to raping a developmentally disabled man has been sentenced to the Montana State Hospital at Warm Springs.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1stHhs8 ) District Judge Holly Brown sentenced 78-year-old Reynold Edward Benusa to a 20-year commitment with the Department of Public Health and Human Services for felony sexual intercourse without consent.

Benusa appeared for sentencing Tuesday via video from the state hospital, where he has been held since December. He was credited for 331 days served in the Gallatin County jail and at the state hospital.

Defense attorney Andy Breuner sought a three-year commitment, saying his client has taken responsibility for and is remorseful for what he did in June 2013.
