BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) - A central Pennsylvania woman who provided court-ordered domestic counseling services has withdrawn her no contest plea to charges that she falsely reported being abducted and sexually assaulted by one such client.

Centre County prosecutors maintain 51-year-old Cindy Brumbaugh, of Howard, faked the report to cover up her affair with the man.

WJAC-TV (https://bit.ly/1lDEH1B ) reports that rather than be sentenced Wednesday, Brumbaugh told a judge she didn’t lie about the incident and now wants to stand trial.

Brumbaugh was charged in September, a few days weeks after state police say her husband found out she was in a car crash with the male client. In reality, police say Brumbaugh was covering her tracks because she had spent the night in a motel with the client.

Brumbaugh’s defense attorney declined comment Thursday.
