WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A West Palm Beach teen has been sentenced to six months in jail after suffering a seizure that led to a fatal wreck.
A judge accepted a plea agreement Tuesday to put 19-year-old Daemon Drew behind bars for the May 2012 crash that killed a 53-year-old woman.
Police said Drew was driving 30 miles an hour over the speed limit when he had a seizure and lost control of his car. He was 17 at the time of the crash.
A prosecutor said Drew had to bear some responsibility for the accident because he hadn’t disclosed a prior seizure on his application for a driver’s license.
The Palm Beach Post reports (https://bit.ly/1qAxKDW) alcohol or drugs were involved in the wreck.
