YUCAIPA, Calif. (AP) - A suspect in the stabbing and robbery of a woman and the stabbing death of a good Samaritan who chased him will stand trial in Southern California.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise reports (https://bit.ly/1jHLIPx ) a judge ruled Tuesday that there is enough evidence to charge 26-year-old Vincent Alex DeLeon for robbery, attempted murder and murder.

Twenty-six-year-old Krystina Hanrahan was stabbed five times and robbed in a Yucaipa grocery store parking lot last month. The assailant was chased by 47-year-old Troy Cansler, who was stabbed in the heart. He died at a hospital.

Hanrahan is expected to recover.

Investigators say a security camera recorded DeLeon removing a black hooded sweatshirt at a bar. Detectives found a sweatshirt at the bar that had blood on it.

DeLeon will be back in court May 27.
