CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley is asking for $250,000 to fight sex trafficking in the county.

Dooley has asked the County Council to approve the funding, which would be a supplemental appropriation from the general operation fund.

In a letter delivered to the council on Tuesday, Dooley says the money will help pay for a computer forensics lab, and help pay for the hiring of two forensic examiners.

Dooley also plans to ask for $530,000 in the 2015 budget.

Dooley says county police are understaffed to battle sex trafficking. He says victims typically range from 12 to 15.
