CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - An investigation continues after fire broke out at a southeast Missouri nursing home.

The blaze occurred around 1 p.m. Tuesday at Frederick Street Manor in Cape Girardeau. The Southeast Missourian (https://bit.ly/T2qPom ) reports that a staff member was taken to the hospital for evaluation. No residents were injured.

The building houses about 26 residents. Fire officials say 22 of the residents were at the home when the fire broke out, and all were evacuated.

The fire started in a second-floor room. Damage was minimal, thanks in part to a newly-installed sprinkler system.

Authorities say the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
