MERRILL, Wis. (AP) - A jury has convicted a Merrill woman accused of driving drunk, killing two friends and injuring a third in Lincoln County.
Twenty-six-year-old Ashley Baumann was convicted Tuesday.
WSAW-TV (https://bit.ly/1mnhbqR) reports jurors convicted Baumann on all seven counts against her, including two counts of homicide while operating a vehicle under the influence and one count of injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
Baumann was charged in a rollover crash that killed 33-year-old Jessica Hartwig and 31-year-old Misty Glisch in June 2012. A third passenger, Jerrica Woller was seriously injured.
The complaint says Woller warned Baumann about her reckless driving minutes before the fatal crash.
A state crime lab report showed Baumann had a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent three hours after the crash. That’s nearly double Wisconsin’s legal limit.
