MARCUS HOOK, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a woman was struck and killed by a train near Philadelphia after a fight with her boyfriend at a nearby bar.
Officials in Delaware County said the woman was struck shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday on tracks near the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority station in Marcus Hook.
Police chief John Ireland said the 50-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man had been involved in a quarrel just before the accident at the Star Hotel.
Ireland told The Philadelphia Inquirer (https://bit.ly/1ltaQZG ) that the man was left with superficial stab wounds after the fight.
Officials said the woman, whose name wasn’t released, died at Crozer-Chester Medical Center after she was struck by an Amtrak train. Police are continuing their investigation.
