NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Officials at a Norman school say two students remain hospitalized after they were injured while playing paintball on a school field trip.
Officials say the students from Community Christian School were visiting Branson, Missouri, for their senior trip when the accident occurred Saturday night. Assistant Principal T.J. VanDyke says a concrete structure collapsed at the paintball facility, injuring students who were standing on top of and below the concrete.
VanDyke tells The Norman Transcript (https://bit.ly/1oof20k ) that other students worked to lift the concrete from the students pinned beneath. VanDyke says five students were taken to a hospital and three have since been released.
Two students are still hospitalized in Springfield. VanDyke says one student suffered a broken pelvis and another suffered a minor brain injury.
