GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - Great Falls police say an employee at a home for disabled residents got drunk and passed out while on duty.
Police arrested 58-year-old Everett Stiner on a charge of elder abuse. The maximum penalty on conviction is 10 years in prison.
The Great Falls Tribune reports (gftrib.com/1spDH29) Stiner told officers he had taken pain medication and was not drinking.
Arrest documents say a caller reported an intoxicated man at the Treasure State Group home Friday morning. Officers found a man passed out in a client’s bedroom and an empty pint of vodka in the trash.
Stiner is the home’s overnight worker. Authorities say his blood-alcohol content measured .287.
The facility houses six people, including one who needs 24-hour monitoring for multiple disorders and two others who are blind and deaf.
