GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A Box Elder woman has made an agreement with prosecutors to plead guilty to assault in the death of her 11-month-old son.

The Great Falls Tribune reports (gftrib.com/1nzWlXh) Cecilia Gardipee will plead guilty Monday.

The agreement calls for a second-degree murder charge against Gardipee to be dropped.

Garrett “Kirby” LaFrombois, the boy’s father and Gardipee’s boyfriend made a similar plea deal and was sentenced to 13 years in prison in April.

Kaidynce Small died Oct. 21. An autopsy found the child had multiple skull fractures, a broken nose, brain hemorrhaging, spinal hemorrhaging and bruising across the head and torso.

Prosecutors say Gardipee had been drinking when she became frustrated by the child’s crying. She told authorities she covered his nose and mouth and then shook him violently for 90 seconds.
