OAKHAM, Mass. (AP) - The driver was killed and his passenger seriously injured when their car struck a tree in Oakham.

Police tell The Telegram& Gazette (https://bit.ly/1skg9LW ) the vehicle driven by 21-year-old Shamus O’Toole of Marshfield was rounding a curve when it left a rural road and struck a tree at about 3 p.m. Sunday.

O’Toole was taken to a Worcester hospital where he was later pronounced dead.



The passenger, 23-year-old Andrew Kane, of Marshfield, was taken to the same hospital.

Police said they do not believe the men were wearing seat belts.

The crash remains under investigation.
