ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Road repairs on Long Island’s most winter-damaged roads are set to begin this year.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo says more than $100 million is being dedicated to resurfacing projects on 300 lane miles on Long Island.
The majority of the roadwork is expected to be performed during off-peak and at night to cause the least amount of disturbance.
Repairs will include removing the worn top layer of pavement from travel lanes and shoulders, repairing the base asphalt, improving drainage and installing new a new asphalt surface.
Commuters should expect roadway repairs on sections of the Long Island Expressway, Northern State Parkway, Meadowbrook Parkway and Routes 24, 25 and 878.
