CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - Court proceedings will take place in a new building in Faulkner County on Monday.
The Log Cabin Democrat (https://bit.ly/1mMn97m ) reports that Monday is the scheduled “soft” opening for the Faulkner County Criminal Justice Building.
County Judge Allen Dodson says the new building offers better safety measures, accessibility for people with disabilities and more space for greater caseloads.
Circuit Judge Charles “Ed” Clawson says the move will be bittersweet. He says he’s been practicing law in the existing courthouse since 1978 and has spent a lot of time there.
The Circuit Clerk and County Clerk will have offices at the new building but will remain based from the old courthouse. The county’s assessor, tax collector and county judge’s office will also remain at the old courthouse.
