DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (AP) - A 24-year-old Denham Springs man was jailed Sunday on a charge of second-degree murder in the death of his roommate.

Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Steele says Jason Wesley Holcombe was arrested at 9 a.m. Sunday and was booked into local jail in the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Joshua Thomason.

Steele says Holcombe’s bond has been set at $500,000.

She says investigators don’t have a motive in the shooting.

Steele says deputies responding to a call of shots fired shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday found Thomason shot once in the torso.

Steele says Holcombe was captured without incident.
