Israel has offered to help Nigeria locate the more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped last month by Islamic terrorists, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday.
“Israel expresses deep shock at the crime against the girls,” Mr. Netanyahu’s office quoted him as telling Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan by phone, Reuters reported.
“We are ready to help in finding the girls and fighting the cruel terrorism inflicted on you,” he said.
The statement did not elaborate on how Israel might provide help. A spokesman for Israel’s Foreign Ministry said he didn’t know of any plans, Reuters reported.
Last week, British security experts joined the Nigerian and American advisers already trying to locate at least 276 girls who were kidnapped by Boko Haram gunmen in the village of Chibok last month.
