BULL SHOALS, Ark. (AP) - A federal grand jury has indicted a police chief of a small Arkansas community with one count of excessive force.

The grand jury indicted Bull Shoals Police Chief Dan Sutterfield on Friday.

Sutterfield was arrested in April on federal charges of using excessive force and falsifying a report in a July 2013 arrest.



The Baxter Bulletin reports (https://bit.ly/RzPz6l ) that the grand jury omitted the falsifying a report charge.

Sutterfield faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for the excessive force charge.

He is on unpaid administrative leave from his duties as police chief.

No attorney is listed for Sutterfield on court records.
