ZEELAND, Mich. (AP) - A man killed at a meat factory in western Michigan has been identified as a 49-year-old Grand Rapids man.
Family members tell The Grand Rapids Press (https://bit.ly/1mMLFoT) he’s Ricardo Ramos, a husband and father of three daughters. He was working early Saturday morning when he became tangled in a machine at the Hillshire Brands plant near Zeeland in Ottawa County.
Hillshire says it’s investigating.
Ramos’ wife, Dominga Lucas, says his death leaves a “big emptiness” in her heart. They’re from Guatemala, and their daughters are ages 10, 7 and 11 months.
Lucas says Ramos was a hard worker who worked overtime to pay bills.
