AKRON, Ohio (AP) - The developer of downtown Akron’s first new hotel in decades says it should be completed by next summer.

Work on the new Courtyard by Marriott is just getting underway.

The $20 million hotel will have about 150 rooms along with banquet and conference rooms.

The Akron Beacon Journal (https://bit.ly/1obDSQM ) reports that it will be the first downtown hotel to open since the Hilton Inn in 1980.
