NEW YORK (AP) - Police say they’ve charged a man with shooting and killing two men in the Bronx.

Jeffrey Pierre was arrested Saturday on two counts of murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say the 33-year-old Bronx man shot Jermaine Johnson and Kaiison Lewis inside a car around 4:40 a.m., Friday.

They say they took Pierre into custody at the scene and recovered two handguns, a .40-caliber and a 9mm.

The 28-year-old Johnson died at the scene. The 23-year-old Lewis was pronounced dead at Jacobi Hospital. Police say they were both from Mount Vernon, New York.

Information on Pierre’s lawyer wasn’t immediately available.
