CLANTON, Ala. (AP) - A Chilton County jury has found a man guilty of two counts of capital murder in the 2010 slaying of a woman in her mobile home in the Enterprise community.
The Montgomery Advertiser reports (https://on.mgmadv.com/1l9eiZt) that jurors deliberated for about an hour on Friday before convicting 44-year-old James Osgood.
Tonya Vandyke, Osgood’s co-defendant and girlfriend at the time, also faces two counts of capital murder. Her trial is set for December.
Chilton County sheriff’s investigators testified that Osgood and Vandyke forced Brown to perform sex acts on both of them while a gun was pointed to her head.
In a recording of Osgood’s confession that was played in court Wednesday, Osgood described cutting Brown’s throat several times and stabbing her twice in the back.
