GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - Two men have been charged following the fatal shooting of a man last fall outside a Grand Rapids eatery.

Grand Rapids police say in a release that 23-year-old Lawrence Scott faces second degree murder and gun charges, while 19-year-old Juwan Mosley-James is charged with discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon.

Dominick Floyd was shot Oct. 31 in the parking lot of New York Chicken.

The Grand Rapids Press reports that Floyd was struck when several people began firing weapons indiscriminately after an unrelated shooting during a robbery attempt in another part of the parking lot.

Scott currently is serving time in state prison on an unrelated conviction. Mosley-James is being held in the Kent County Jail. Both are expected to be arraigned next week.
