Teen arrested with gun at Toppenish High School

TOPPENISH, Wash. (AP) - Police arrested a 16-year-old boy at Toppenish High School when they found a pistol in his backpack.

Officers went to the school Wednesday after receiving a tip.

Police told KNDO (https://bit.ly/1n1LUeQ ) the teen is a known gang member.

There were no threats and no one was injured.

The school was locked down during the incident and letters were sent home to parents to explain what happened.
